Depending on how SharpScholar is configured at your school, you might have the ability to hide courses from the Course List. Click the gear icon at the top right of the course list and uncheck the box to Unselect All. That will hide the course from your view. If you are unable to do that, contact the computing help desk at your school for assistance.

Contact your instructor first. SharpScholar does not have access to your instructors SharpScholar site and cannot help you with these types of questions.

I was in the middle of taking a test or writing a post when I lost everything.

Unfortunately, the information is probably lost permanently. You will need to recreate the information. If you experience problems during a test and cannot continue, contact your instructor immediately. SharpScholar does not have access to your instructors SharpScholar site and cannot help you with these types of questions.

Here are some reasons why you might lose information that you are entering in SharpScholar:

  • The internet connection dropped.
  • The browser was refreshed.
  • Your browser timed out due to inactivity.

SharpScholar has a security setting that logs you out if it doesn't receive any input for a period of time. That period of time is different from school to school.

The following tips can help you avoid this issue in the future:

  • Use a wired connection if possible when taking a test. Wireless internet connections are less reliable.
  • Do not refresh the browser page.
  • Do not close the browser window
  • Do not click the browser's back button.
  • If possible, write out the text in an external application and then paste it into SharpScholar. Working offline first ensures that your work in progress will not be lost.
  • If you are working in assignments, save your work in progress. Saving often helps avoid any browser timeout issues.

How can I be notified about new items?

SharpScholar has different options to notify you when there is new content.

The first is Notifications. If notifications are available to you, you can receive notifications by email or by checking your SharpScholar dashboard.

These options depend on how your instructor customizes your course and how your school has personalized SharpScholar. If you do not see these options, contact error@sharpscholar.com

How do I change my email address?

For instructions on how to change your email address in SharpScholar, please contact info@sharpscholar.com. In some situations you cannot change your email address; your school does not allow you to change your email of record through SharpScholar. This is because SharpScholar shares data with other systems on campus, such as the registrar's office. In this case it is necessary to ensure that your email address is the same everywhere. Your school will have a different way to change your email address. For more information, contact the computing help desk at your school. If you have already changed your name or contact information through the registrar's office, your master record will be updated in your school's database. It might take a few days to process.
